    husky 9.3x57 finally scoped!!!!!!!

it was back in august '19 when i got my gunsmith to do a couple rifles and a pistol. the pistol had a alot of head scratching but he finally got it done. i could have picked up my rifles back in august(when they were done) but they were 1 1/2 hours(gunsmith) away from me and i decided that the guns would would stay until finished. since i am handicapable, i no longer "fix" guns. oh i'll some "fixin" up, but i reserve that for the professionals.

    but anyway here it was........

    now is

i shoot a 280gr fn gc with 4895(i have to develop THE load) in my husqvarna m46 in 9.3x57. i have a leupold freedom in 2-7x. if it goes 3" at 100 yards(bench/5 shots), i'll be happy with that. in the area that i hunt, a 100 yards loooooooooong shot, but 30-40 yards is more likely. deer/black bear is what i hunt.

i would like to load the 280gr using 4895 at 1700-1800fps but i'll see.

You can spend more money but I don't know that a fella can do much better. And, obviously that depends on your wants and needs. The longer I own my 9.3 Husky, the more I like it.

i have to replace the oversized plastic butt pad to something like limbsaver or pachmayr. other than that, i can't find any fault. i like the two stage trigger, its about 4 or 5 lb of pull until it breaks.

Let there be light! I see the modern short tube scope requires extension rings- the Weaver 4x4s are good to go. A Pachmayr Old English pad will set it off nicely. I heart that rifle.

i had warne weaver steel scope bases in my "junk box" and i had ordered a 2-7x leupold, so all that i needed are weaver 1 extended scope rings.

Is that one of Simpson’s rifles? They carry quite a few of these.

yes it is. i got it because of this.......

i was going to go with a timney trigger but i shot it so well that i didn't. its a two stage trigger and it breaks at about 4 or 5 lbs. i wanted to restock it, but i let that go too. its oversized black plastic butt pad HAS to go. i'm thinking pachmayr or limbsaver.

The 9.3x57 cartridge has a maximum chamber pressure of about 49k and a maximum velocity around 2000 to 21000 feet per second depending on the primer, case, powder charge and the case itself. Some of the members over on the nitroexpress.com website have been playing around with this cartridge and the various rifles it's been chambered in. Mine has been D&T for scope bases weaver if I'm not mistaken. gonna have to dig it out of the safe and check the bases. That and glass bed the front receiver ring and the tang. I have a 146 98 mauser action on mine and the bolt handle has already been lowered for use with a scope. Frank
