New Martini company

Hi:

I was at the Shot Show last year and there was a new company making new Martini rifles.

I have lost the info I had on then and does any one know who they might be.

As I recall they were based in Oregon and I think the company name started with a "D"

For a small market custom gun that isn't out of line. Italian replicas of other single shot rifles start in that range. If you were to pick up one of the Nepal guns just to modify it to a custom caliber you would have more than that in it.

Certainly not in my range. The Martini rifles have grown on me but not that much.

If I spent that kind of coin I would get a highwall custom made, pistol grip, shotgun butt. 40-65 perhaps.

I watched the short video they have and right away noticed the large gap between the forend and the reciever.
I am wondering if there is a reason for that such as barrel harmonics ? Anyway it looks bad and there is a way to make a forend hanger so the forend can be free floated to the barrel.

I didn't see any video but a small gap is not uncommon on 2 piece stocks, for accuracy reasons. A big gap would definitely look out of place.
Where are custom Highwalls available for $1800? My Shiloh was dam near 3K with just 2 small upgrades 3 years ago. Just about any Pedersoli production gun is $1800.

Admirable,but my opinion hasnt changed....Out of interest ,Id like to see how they applied the rear pivot of the block.....this is a complicated bit of machining in a Francotte,I ve always thought it could be simplified without affecting the utility of the design.
