what seize bullet for 44 magnum rifle

I slug the barrel of my Ruger #1 in 44 magnum
it is .431
when ordering a mold from Accurate should I get .433 (+.002/-.000)

My thinking is I like to seize .002 over seize just like I do in my 4570

my bullet are seize .460 so if the mold drops a bit over .433

I could seize .432. .431 for the bore +2 makes .433

yes, .433 (+.002/-.000) is basically saying .434 , I size .4325 for my rifle. so a .434 projectile and a sizer between .432 and .433 would have full contact when sizing and should be the right size for shooting.

If your .433" cast bullets are too large in diameter (chambering problems) all you have to do is size them down (Lee sizing dies are real handy). If your cast bullets are too small, it's much more difficult to make them larger. My 44 magnum rifle has an over size barrel (SAAMI says 44 Magnum rifle specs are .431" groove diameter, but my Puma runs .4325"-.433") and I size to .433"+. My revolvers and Contender use .431" and .432" depending on the throat size...

dang two 50 dollar sizers, I never used a lubsizer so im not familiar with it, but id rather buy a 30 dollar .430 and lap it up if you have the ability to slug and mic

My Marlin 1894 slugs at 0.4315" and I use no less than 0.433" and up to 0.435" boolits generally as cast with no chambering issues and good accuracy. I will say that the Marlin seems to have a large/sloppy chamber and I have taken to "neck sizing" only as my carbide dies seem to really work the brass. When I "neck size" they look almost like .44-40 rounds. Not sure if your Ruger will be that sloppy but something to look at.

If you haven't used an Accurate mould you are in for a treat! I love mine! Tom does great work.

just screw them in until you have the correct ID of the case

throat size is what matters. I have had 2 Browning 92's that would only shoot well at .434.

You can always size down but hard to bump up. Go bigger.
