Today I removed a ribbed mainspring from an unreliable S&W revolver and replaced it with a factory carbon steel spring. The take-off spring is stainless steel, and is probably worn out. To my knowledge, Wolff never made KLN mainsprings of stainless steel. Did some other company ever make ribbed KLN mainsprings of stainless steel?
Are you sure it's stainless? The Wolf springs were definitely ribbed. Could it just be bright polished (unblued) steel?
I've never seen a stainless S&W type mainspring by any maker .
