.690 Round ball load data

Im looking for a subsonic or as close to it as i can get,
low pressure load to start out with not expecting to go past 30-75 feet in my shooting range
heres what I have

I'd start around 18 grains of clays in a cheddite hull, with a non-magnum primer, and work down a half grain at a time until you get close to 1050 fps or so...or the shot loses that "crack". This isn't a published load, just an educate guess. If you are super worried about safety at these low pressures, then search through all the published load data you can find until you find a 1 1/8 oz load with a combination of components you have...and work down a half grain at a time. You're safely out of the danger zone playing with subsonic slugs, as long as you stay below trap load powder charges. Unique is a really good powder for this. It sounds like you and I are playing with the same kind of loads.

Powder: Hodgdon CLAYS - 13.0 grains
Shot: Qty 12, #00 Buchshot or 1 1/4 oz Slug.

*Sounds like a 22 short.
* Nice patterns out to 25 yards with buckshot. Slugs are accurate out to 50 yards.
* Roll crimp gives a nice tight package. Feeds well in a pump shotgun.
* The finished overall length after roll crimp is 2 7/8""

Use at your own risk and again, I have not used this data, just collected it. The 2nd and 3rd loads are for heavier payload than 0.690" but as pashiner says, you can reduce charge until the crack disappears if they are supersonic with lighter payload.
