    powder for 9mm

I've been using blue dot and unique to load my 9mm. Problem is they don't meter very well. I have to weigh each charge. Been looking at power pistol, it was supposedly designed for 9mm. Anybody know how it meters?

Don't limit yourself to a single powder. There are many excellent powders out there for 9mm. Most of them meter quite well.
Sorry I can't answer about power pistol as I have never used it.

Dunno. I mostly use Bullseye. It meters well in my RCBS Uniflow.

I like HS-6 for full velocities. Ball powders meter better, and there are many that work well for 9mm.

Which measure? My Lee Autodrum generally measures the flake powders to within .1 grain with a bit of care to settle the powder consistantly.

Power Pistol was developed for 9mm Luger. Went by the name BE84 until it was released to the canister trade. Wonderful stuff it is. Works well in .40SW as well as .38 Spl, both regular and +P

I use mainly, AA#7, although, lots of data in Lyman's Cast Bullet Manual for AA#5.

    +1 on this.
I use Herco for most of my 9mm loads. The less than maximum loads that I use almost fill the case. You can see any load that is more than .1 grains off and this is rare with the Lee autodrum.

W231 for me. It works well meters well and I load for other calibers with it. No sense in me having 10 or 12 different powders around when 231 works. W231 for 9mm, 38,357,and 45acp.

I'm a Blue Dot fan for 9MM and I've also used a lot of Red Dot/Promo. That said, I also get great results with WSF and it meters great too.

Alliant BE-86 meters great and works well in a variety of pistol cartridges.

I'm also a big fan of AA#5 and AA#7 in the 9mm. They may not be the "cheapest", but I've decided that the AA powders (#2, #5, #7, #9) will work in all six of the cartridges I load for. The AA#7 has even become my go-to powder of choice for reduced loads with cast boolits in the 30-30 win.

I think powder availability in your area will dictate your choice. I have never seen an accurate brand powder in my area. That said, if I really wanted to get some, I would just order on the internet. Alliant powders are readily available in my area.
Due to the price of primers, warning shots will no longer be given!

To answer the OP's question, Power Pistol meters much better in both my Lee PPM and on the Hornady LnL than either Unique or Blue Dot. One of my favorite powders for heavies in the 9mm.
