Kevin; I have built some log buildings in my time as a carpenter and general contractor. Here is something anyone building with logs should know: The logs will settle and/or shrink over the years. That means the roof will get closer to the floor. So, when you put in a window or a door leave some space above them so the settling logs won't cause your windows to break or your door to become unopenable. You need to allow more settling space for doors than windows but both need some. Fill the settling space with fiberglass insulation and cover that with wood trim - say 1x6. Your place isn't too big so you'll not need to put partitions in. If you do they should have settling space above them as well.
