Help me rationalize my .32 choices.

So I'm into .32 for the best part of a decade now, allegedly the one true caliber and all.

It all started a number of years ago when I got an estate sale deal where I acquire a large lot of excellent quality 115gr RNFP .314 meant for 32-20, I load this bullet into everything from .32 SWL to 7.62x39, it not ideal but work well enough and had provided hours of plinking fun. This 115gr boolit is beginning to run out and I need to find a way to feed my .32s.

I am needing some advise on which molds I should look into so I can shoot the correct bullet weight for the caliber.

-What mold should I get for .32 ACP? I have no boolit for the caliber at the moment but would like to shoot it a lot more.
- Any advise on a .32 wadcutter mold? I love 148gr wadcutter on the S&W 10, but seems .32 wadcutter mold is hard to come by and seem the ones I saw were heavy for the caliber. I can be persuaded to get a 2 cavity Lyman as I have some Lyman 2 cavity mold with no handles that I would like to start using.
- Shall I sell my working LAM II with dies and to finance fixing the STAR sizer that is in parts? The setup for LAM II is too involved and I have only used it twice in 5 years. The only other caliber I cast for is .38

These are the guns I have to feed:
Beretta 81 in .32ACP
S&W 2" 31-1 in .32 S&W Long
S&W 2" 431PD in .32 H&R Magnum
Ruger SP101 in .327 Federal
CZ 527 in 7.62x39

Mold I have on-hand:
LEE 312-160-2R, with the gas check base milled off, I tumble lube these for plinkers with 10gr of Bluedot, seems to work well enough.
LEE 312-155-2R, while I have the gas checks and a LAM II and Star sizer, my current living arrangement means I rarely get the chance to setup the sizer.
LEE 314-90-SWC, this is the mold I use the most, think I might experiment with loading this boolit backwards if I can't get a wadcutter mold.

I only tumble lube at the moment as I do not have the space to set-up my lubrisizer. I do have a working LAM II with all the dies I need and a STAR sizer that is in parts and have no dies. Setting up the LAM II is kind of involved, I am thinking about selling the LAM II to fund purchase of parts and dies for the star which seems to be an easier setup.

Accurate has several choices which fill the bill in the .32 handguns. I use these in mine.

In a bolt gun the lee .312 -160 should do fine. I use this bullit and lee .314 90 swc and .311 100 2r sized .311 in my axis 308. Use Larry Gibson’s bullseye load and it shoots great

NOE has an excellent mold that closely resembles the bullet that you are running out of. It is 314-119 rf. I use this in 32hrm, but could easily use it in my 327’s, or in 7.62-39. It is a great bullet, and with my ww’s comes in at 119gns.

I shoot 32 ACP and 32 H&R.

I love this WC bullet from NOE! Get it with the pins and if you are as lucky as me the 84 grain weight cast by using the medium pin will work in your 32 ACP as well.

I also have an arsenal 314-98 wc mold. It casts a dewc at 96gns with my 50/50 alloy. I haven’t had this very long, and I am sure they are still available from arsenal. I use it in 32s&w long and 32hrm.

Use Larry Gibson’s bullseye load and it shoots great. The kids really like the 308 turned 22lr . My Bretta 32 acp I got the lee mold .311 100 2r which is to heavy. My mold was milled down .090 and now cast 82 gr. It works out great. I got it already shaved down from a member on this site. Would really like a noe or accurate mold but money is very tight and the milled down lee mold was cheep. If you can find somebody with a mill the lee mold makes a good bullet.

My Bretta 32 acp I got the lee mold .311 100 2r which is to heavy. My mold was milled down .090 and now cast 82 gr.

I do have access to a milling machine and that sounds like a cheap way for me to get a 32acp boolit.

Welcome aboard the 32 pistol boat, they are an addiction.
I have a Ruger SSM, a Colt Officer's Model Heavy Barrel, made in 1940, and just added a Colt Police Positive

Lyman in the past has had some nice round nose molds that would work fine for the ACP, 311226, 311227 are two that come to mind, RCBS has a 32-77-RN

In the 32 S&W Long I use the Saeco mold # 325, which is a 95 gr SWC, I have a 4 cavity that casts so well its a pleasure
Am currently looking at the Saeco Wad cutter they offer for the 32

In the 32 H&R I shoot the NOE, 32-115-SWC.

A lot of people use the RCBS 32-98-SWC mold and NOE and Arsenal has made a clone if it also

Can not help with the 7.62x39.

You can't go wrong with the RCBS 32-098 SWC. It shoots well out of everything I shoot it out of. I also utilize the Lee SWC that does well. I have a no name brass mold that drops at 115gr and it is a sharp shouldered SWC that is really nice out of the Hand Ejectors and the SP101 .32 Magnum.

I have a Lyman mold that throws 115 grain swc's. I have tried it in loads for my 32 S&W Long Smiths which have fixed sights. Due to dwell time I cannot regulate it enough to hit to point of aim. I would love to have a mold that throws the 98 grain SWC. And would be willing to trade the 3118 mold for it. Anyhow, I would go with the 98 grains SWC's for sure.

I have been reviewing WC options for the 32’s.

I thought LEE had one I guess its been disco’d. I thought that RCBS also had one but cannot seem to find.
Even eBay has none listed. (There is a RCBS 98 swc listed right now)

Im considering a WC mold if I can find one myself. I have about five appropriate molds. I need to investigate farther but looks like the lyman 311440 might be useable! What a piledriver if a bullet from a 327 that might be!!

So I went and bought the Lee 311-100-2R and 311-93-1R since Midway has free ship for $49 on Lee products. Going to try tumble lubing these first before I shave the 311-100-2R on the mill. There was a lot of good ideas here and I really wish I can justify the RCBS or Saeco Wadcutter.

Also what it the "Gibson Bullseyes Load"?

Try BLL for lubricating your bullets. It is an excellent option. It will eliminate the need for your LAM and Star. Sizing can be done with a push through die if sizing is required.

I'm in the same boat as EMC. In revolvers all I cast is the RCBS bullet.

Look or search it up on this site but It is I thank 2.7 to 3.2 gr of bullseye. 2.7 in the smaller cases like 7.62x39 and 3.2 in 308 303 and 30/06 with a 90 to 100 gr lead pistole bullet and bullseye . I also use the lee .312 160 2r in my 308 .sized .311. I have used 5 to 7 gr of bullseye with this bullet.

Forgot no gas check just alox lubed lee or white label 45/45 10 . Shoots great like A match 22
