    Going price for wheel weights?

What is the going rate for a 5 gallon bucket? Older and very likely zinc free. I may be able to procure for $25-30/ bucket.

How heavy is the bucket, if over 25#, probably an ok deal. The heaver the bucket, the better the deal. You’ll have to throw away the metal clips and there might be a few zinc ones mixed in. Good luck.

If it's a full (2-3" from the top) bucket that's a steal. I give 30 a bucket for mixed and get about 60% usable. So I'm giving .50 a pound roughly and having to sort and smelt'em.

Not a good deal by me! I pay $10 for a full bucket! If I go to the scrap yard I pay $.30 a pound. They by for $.08 a pound. But different places different price’s.

Prices and availability of wheel weights vary in different parts of the Country. So does the weight and amount of non lead and other trash. Often there are non-lead weights, brake pads, valve stems, tire stickers and lots of other junk.

If your buckets are full and contain mostly lead weights they should be worth $25-$30. They may weigh anywhere from 120 to 160 pounds. Even if the weights are all lead you will loose between 10 and 20% of the weight due to clips.

I would see if they will let you dump them out, maybe on your truck tailgate or something, and look through them. Their age would have to go back 15 or more years to not contain zinc or iron weights.

    Good Luck!

The going rate around my area that i use to pay was around $25 to $30 for a five gallon bucket.( I get mine free now that i have a friend that owns a tire shop) I don't think that $25-30 is too much.

I'd probably grab those in a heartbeat. In 2012, the State of Illinois...in their infinite wisdom..banned the installation of WWs containing lead and, now, they're essentially non-existent here.

Local scrap yard quoted me $1 per pound for wheel weights. Call back a week or so later asking how much they pay and was quoted $0.25 That's just crazy

Wheel weights have been banned in this state for over ten years. The scrap yards will still sell other types of lead. It is against the law for them to sell even scrap wheel weights here.

My local scrap yard is selling lead for .75 cents a pound. I sold them 5 old car batteries and added $60.00 cash and walked away with 157 pounds of sail boat ballast lead on Saturday.
