Love with the 480 Rug
had a bunch of left over 480's sitting around and since I have a
MGM 475 Linebaugh barrel for my Encore I though I would try these
in that gun.I like what happened with that I shot the bestess I have ever
done before with the 480 and mild to shoot as well

The 480 is truly a sweet cartridge and is my favorite true big bore. I consider the 41,44,45 Colt as mid bores when discussing the Linebaughs, Smith x frame
Guns and 480R
My SBH in 480 Ruger is an excellent shooter with the Lee 400 grain cast bullet.
My 480 sbh shoots everything good. It makes it hard to pick out a load. I use the mp-477-630 with the lg hp pin. These weigh 386gns with my alloy, and usually go over 14.0gns of hs-6, or 18.0gns of 2400

whats not to like. A 400 grain bullet at 1100-1200 fps will kill ANYTHING! Its the level I load most of my 475s to anyway. Its actually the big bore caliber that makes the most sense of any of them. Big heavy bullet at moderate velocitys with recoil closer to a 44 mag then a 454 and every bit as effective if not more then the 454 on truly large animals
