i use 12 grains 2400 in that boolit without the gas check, grapefruit sized groups at 200 meters. i also shoot a 105 grain plain based boolit over 15 grains of aa1680. same accuracy.

I shoot that boolit out of a 1944 Inland over 12.7gr H 110. I size .310 . With mine I can hit a beer can most of the time at 75 yds from a rest.

Decades ago, GONRA's .30 US Carbine load used 119 grain U311359 cast bullet with Lyman gas check, Lyman lube, sized .309 inch
with 13.6 grains DuPont 4227 powder, CCI 400 primers. Shoots great: US M1, M2 carbines, Jap Howa copy too.
Load probably is right out of the Lyman manual....

The Lyman 311316GC bullet ran well in the Inland .30 carbine I had.
Now shoots well in my RBH.
For this ctg in the carbine I just loaded initially with starting loads for jacketed bullets.
worked up, got good function. Shot the 311316 cast bullets well, about equal to 110 gr JSP and better than LC ball.

I recall that IMR4227 gives less of the "Loutengeboomer"/muzzle flash, etc than the ball ammo or the ball powders, especially in the RBH.

I have shot thousands of 311359s in numerous M1 and M2 Carbines. Cast of COWW + 2% tin these days, sized .309 and lubed with 2500+ (or any NRA 50/50 lube) I load them over 13.5 gr H110. Excellent accuracy at 1800 fps.
