    Mauser Stock Suggestions

I picked up a sportier VZ-24 in 358 Win. It has a Hogue rubber stock. I wanted to replace it.
Any recommendations from those who have done it?
On the McMillian site they note that their Mouser stock won’t fit the VZ-24. I thought is was close to the 98K?
Please enlighten me on the differences and good recommendations.

What do you want to replace it with? Wood? Did you try Boyd's Gunstocks?

I have used Boyd's stock and they are OK but there are other sources. The VZ 24 mauser is just a shade different than a regular mauser is a large ring action but it is a tad shorter in action length than the regular mauser. I have a 24/47(model 24 re-arsenaled in 1947). Richards Micro Fit makes stocks for the 24 or did the last time I looked some years ago. Wenig may also make stocks for it. These are th folks I know and trust but there should be others. james

Thank you James. I’ll start by looking up the names you mentioned.

I have a VZ24 in 7X57 that was a South American contract rifle.

I removed the military stock and went with a Boyd's. I couldn't be happier.

I just bought a Boyd's a while back for a new project. The action dropped in with zero work. Haven't barreled it yet, but will have to do some carving there. It's one of their laminated ones, and looks great.

Thanks for the pic and the Boyd’s advise. It’s nice to know what has been tried that works.
