    Ugliest rifle?

Who makes the ugliest rifle in your opinion? The latest CDNN email has the T/C Dimension on sale. THAT is an ugly gun!

My vote goes to the Savage Axis followed by the Savage 110 series. And yes, I own both. Ugly but they shoot good.

I am biased as the owner of a T/C Dimension 30-06 that has scored elk 4 years running. It is certainly unconventional looking. But it is an incredibly accurate and ergonomically friendly rifle.

Savage makes some exceedingly plain to bordering on ugly rifles that are boringly accurate.

I have a few Handi Rifles that would be in the running for Miss Congeniality.

But the ugliest rifle I have seen of late was a Savage 99E carbine (normally a rather nice looking gun indeed) that appeared to have been restocked by a home smith in an extremely yellow shade of mystery plywood, fashioned with a chainsaw while blind drunk. It was a most vile contrast. It was on GB and I thought to save it by re-stocking with something more recognizably ergonomic but when bids exceeded $500, I chose instead to enjoy the mirth.

I just saw the same email and had the same thought... that rifle is sinfully ugly!

I think the Remington 770 and the Axis are in a tie. And this will anger some but I think the 1876 Winchester is an overweight homely gal.....

I'll put in a vote for the TC Compass, just plain tacky but boy does it shoot!

I like the look of the pre 2003 savage 110s, and the feel of the wrist that's built like a polish girls ankles.

Ugly, hmmm, enfields are mighty homely. A savage 99 could draw a blister on an outhouse door. Any of those new bolt actions with plastic stocks are bout the same, no soul. A ps90 won't win no beauty contests either.

For me the savage axis. I really want to like a gun that cheap that shoots that good, but I can't.

I will say the T.C Dimension,is the ugliest, followed closely by the Compass. The Axis is ugly as well, but I can't stand the looks of Remingtons 710,715,or 770,mainly because of the sling mounts molded into the stock.,not to mention the fact they are said to have the barrels pressed into the receiver.
I think I had a Mossberg ATR years ago that was like that as well.I realize Remington has a better rifle with the 783,than their fore mentioned budget model, but they still just mold rasised eyelets in the stock for sling mounts.I would think anyone would be glad to pay $2.00 extra on a knew rifle for studs.

The ugliest gun I have is the Compass...it is also my most accurate. A gun can be a tool or a piece of art....sometimes both. I have a M70 that is close to doing both.

I think the AR-15 A2 in it's stock form is good looking. I don't like the look of the A1 with that triangle handguard or the carbine however.

The early Stevens Tip Up rifles were strange looking and could be called homely but when you have it in your hands it feels lovely.

To me, the Browning BLR LONG action looks, well WRONG. In the I can’t believe it category- no one has mentioned the Hi-point carbine!
