New pistol score Wichita 7mm international

I scored this pistol in mint condition with dies. The dies alone have a 299.00 list price. I got it for 250 for the gun and dies. Bore is completely mint. Seller inherited from Grandfather and wasn't his cup of tea, so i bought it. I need to learn to experiment fireforming 3030 cases, any tips?.Now the 10 day wait....

You got one heck of a buy there!!! Wish I could come across a buy like that. You could always have it rechambered to 7-30 Waters!!

Thanks, ya i am kind of picky about modifying firearms from factory configuration, Plus, i have the dies. SO i will be using 30-30 brass, its the simplest way. If i re-chambered it would cost some bucks to do that, then i would still have to buy the dies on top.

I campaigned a 7mm Intl. Rimmed for years and won many a State Championship with one. I used to reform 375 Winchester brass as it has a heavier base and used 335 powder with a 7mm RCBS Sil. boolit.

I found it interesting that Redding wants $300 for the dies and CH4D about $100. That's a nice target pistol you got for a great price.

A sillouhette pistol that would go hunting if it were mine. I’ll post some data later from an older Hornady manual. Ten day wait? On a private sale? Sad.

    Handshaker,

I shoot the same exact gun and cartridge, and here are a couple of my favorite loads.

CASE: Winchester 30-30 brass reformed and fireformed

    PRIMER: Federal Match

    POWDER: Winchester 748 / 41.0 grains

BULLET: Sierra 100 gr. Hollow Point

    ............................................

CASE: Winchester 30-30 brass reformed and fireformed

    PRIMER: Federal Match

    POWDER: Winchester 748 / 36.0 grains

BULLET : Hornady 139 gr. SST

For either load, start 10% low and work up slowly, watching for pressure signs.

My gun wears a Bushnell Trophy 2X -6X handgun scope, and you would have to try real hard to make it group outside of 3/4" at 100 yards when shooting off a bench.

If you need help in forming brass, send me a PM.

I just got rid of 300 rounds of the cases you are looking for, a buddy had them and passed away.

Thank you!!!! and bummer on the 300 cases. oh well...
Also can someone please help in the orientation of the dies on my lee turret press?,i am somewhat new to reloading.
    Which is first ect
I have a FL full length resizing die
    NK neck sizing die
    and ST bullet seating die.
I assume the FL die is first and the NK is last but do i use the NK neck seating die?
    thanks

FL die first, then seating die. After firing, the neck die can be used instead of the FL die in most cases.

Hey all i tried resizing some old 3030 brass and am getting deformation with the FL die. I am new to reloading, what am i doing wrong? Is this safe to shot once loaded?

I second the above. That's too much lube.
