jonp, thank you and I agree. She has hunted a bit and I have had her on deer in the past. She wouldn't take the shot, always told me that she didn't have the shot or couldn't see them. She knows I wouldn't let her take a shot unless she was positive of the shot. She did have some problems with looking through a scope, so I had her practice mounting the rifle till it was second nature. So weather she was just hesitant to take the shots or she couldn't see. She at 31 years old took her first and like you, It is a trophy in my eyes. My late Wife, her Mother took her first deer with my .357 lever action and my hand load. I was blessed to be there for both.

Texas, she is 31 and a pipeliner. I'll pass along the compliment, she will love it. She was a labor and carpenter on bridges prior to the pipeline, she had to go where the money was. She looks like a pretty girl but is not afraid of work and will give the guys a run for there money. I've seem her with mud from head to toe working them jobs.

I have just the opposite problem since I've retired.I get burnt out on hunting by the time the late seasons come along.I probably wont even hunt during the upcoming muzzle loader season, and maybe not in heritage season.

Nah, if you were counting you'd know the hours, minutes and seconds.

Nice deer by the way. Congratulations.

My oldest daughter is 31- I guess they’ll always look young to me. She killed her first deer with a 22-250 at age 12. Grandpa told her where to wait for the turnip thief buck with the weird horns. We sat in a brush pile and sure enough he showed up on time. I was so proud that morning! Thanks for the memories.

Wonderful hunt! I was with my daughter on her first successful hunt at age 11! It was and is my favorite hunting memory! Also with cast and a lever action 44 Winchester.
    Thanks for sharing this.
