Sailor Jerry, allspice, a dab of brown sugar, boiling water, topped with a bit of butter
One half gill (2.5 oz.) of real British Admiralty rum, https://www.kegworks.com/naval-rum-measure-half-gill to 1/2 pint of boiling water, which should NOT be from a municipal treated source, but best from a natural spring-fed source, 1 pat (1/3 tablespoon) of butter, stirred with and/or sipped through a cinnamon stick!

Me Sainted Mother would not have condoned of adding sugar or allspice to hot buttered rum, that would be "only for Nancy boys from Cambridge or Eton"

The ENEMY is listening.
HE wants to know what YOU know.
Keep it to yourself.
The old fashioned way, a mug of cider, rum, a pat of butter, and a hot poker from the fireplace.

I don't know how to make them and I have no desire to learn, but if I'm ever in the mood for one,
Gracie's Sea Hag In Depoe Bay, Oregon makes the best I've ever had. World-Class Bloody Mary's, too!
