    RCBS Mould Question

I am trying to find out what Top Punch to use with bullets from an RCBS 459-515 mould. Any help would be appreciated.

You can make your own custom top punch by using a oversized t.p. Use epoxy to fill the cavity use one of your bullets with wax or oil as a mould release to shape the nose in the cavity.Trim excess with a razor blade before totally set. I have several done this way and work better as they fit perfectly with no seating rings on the bullet nose.

What he said! Best top punch to be had. I made all of my top punches this way.

I wasn't able to search out what type of boolit nose, for the mold you are asking about?
But, if it's a FN, like the RCBS 45-500-FN

Then, you can just use a 1/4 bolt for a TP.

According to my RCBS Cast Bullet Manual and the RCBS Mould Chart I can't find a number 459-515 .

    RCBS mould numbers are listed : 45-300-FN , 45-325-FN-U , 45-405-FN+ , 45-500-FN+ ,
    45-500-BPS+ and 45-530-RN+ .
All are FN Flat Nose except the last RN= round nose . The best punch to use is a flat punch . It can be used to seat/size any boolit with a flat nose . If you have one that the profile doesn't fit...fill the cavity with epoxy and sand flat . Or , as JonB recommends, use a 1/4" bolt with the end filed flat .

Chuck a 1/4" bolt in a drill press and use a file to round the flats off. It will work on any flat nose bullet.
