    Biscuits and gravy

We will never know her name but she deserves a special place in paradise. I am talking about the farm wife who got up one morning wondering what she could fix her family for breakfast. She had flour so she made biscuits but her family would need more than that. She had flour so she poured that in the skillet and and stirred milk in with. It needed something more. In the ice box she saw a jar of sausage bits and grease. She stirred the mix and tried it. Well the family loved her creation and the rest is history. I have never seen a man, women, child, dog or cat that didn't love biscuits & gravy.

When any of our 6 grandkids visit, my wife will ask them what they want for breakfast, they always reply, biscuits and gravy grandma. She uses Jimmy Dean's original sausage in the gravy and uses Pillsbury Grand southern biscuits instead of making her own biscuits. Never is any left as the grandkids will go back and have seconds if any is left over. She taught both granddaughters how to make it and two of the grandsons also wanted to learn how to make it. Youngest grandson, 14 years old, will come over and tell his grandmother that he will make the biscuits and gravy in the morning for breakfast.

Gopher slayer, that same sign hangs in our kitchen. given to the wife by our oldest daughter-in-law.

    YES and YES!

Leftover biscuits and gravy or S.O.S. is an un-heard-of phenomenon in my family. It would constitute an affront of great proportions.

We have been known to put these wonderful concoctions over steamed brown or white rice as well as biscuits or toasted bread.

Man, I am hungry!! It’s been known for these past 37 years that homemade biscuits lead to our marriage. Growing up on a family farm I could not comprehend biscuits in a can. When I found a cute girl that knew how to make biscuits and gravy I was done looking

No doubt one of life's best things. I sauté a little bit of chopped home grown onions with the sausage.

Now I am hungry and no place within 25 miles has decent biscuits and gravy tonight.
Guess I'll go raid the fridge to see what I can find.

We use Jimmy Dean Sausage too.
Except We use half a roll of Hot and half a roll of Original. Plenty of fresh ground black pepper. We pay homage to healthy by using 1% milk instead of Cream. We make scratch biscuits with White Lily flour. Usually 2 Dozen Biscuits.
Best breakfast on a cold morning, with Home Fries and perfect Scrambled eggs and Knotts Boysenberry preserves on the biscuits on the side.

    Know what's for Breakfast tomorrow.

I'm ashamed to admit I was in my 30's before learning about B&G. I've had 30 years to make up for it though.
