My grand mother made the best biscuits from scratch.
I have 2 brothers. The last 2 or 3 biscuits always resulted in conflict at the table.
It was easy to get a fork in the back of your hand when you reached for the last few biscuits.
My youngest brother took to hiding a biscuit on his knee when he thought we were not looking.

My wife died 2 years ago. When life hands you a lemon just learn to make gravy.
1 table spoon of bacon grease
    1/4 cup of flour
    2 cups of milk

Mix flour and hot grease until the paste takes on a light brown tint
Add all the milk and stir continually until it starts to thicken.
Pour over biscuits and pig out.

Or you can make it with sausage....

If I felt the need to make homemade biscuits and gravy fresh every time it would go from once a week to probably twice a year.

Llyod try the pilsbury biscuits in the frozen aisle. Taste good without that canny taste.

Also handy when you just want to cook a couple biscuits instead of 6 or 8 in the can.

    Same with SOS.

Well it can be done poorly. Uncooked taste to flour, insufficient seasoning, too thick, too thin.
