Anyone used an MP round ball mold?

I will soon start shooting 32 rifles and I like to have a mold for everything I shoot. I bought a bunch of swaged 1 1/2 buckshot from Ballistic Products to get started shooting, but I will still want a mold. In .310/.311 it seems there are not a lot of choices. I stumbled across MP's round ball offerings and saw that they sell an 8 banger (!) 310 mold. The boolit molds I have from MP are first rate, so no worries there. The only thing that gives me pause is the site indicates that the mold produces .310 balls when cast out of wheelweights. Anyone use one of his round ball molds? Do you get the advertised sized with pure? In this size it seems my only alternative is a Lee mold. That would be OK, but MP would be better.

I would stick with the buckshot. It shoots as well as anything you will cast. Not to mention it is frustrating to cast for an hour, and have a distressingly small pile of balls for the effort!
The solid soft lead bullet is undoubtably the best and most satisfactory expanding bullet that has ever been designed. It invariably mushrooms perfectly, and never breaks up. With the metal base that is essential for velocities of 2000 f.s. and upwards to protect the naked base, these metal-based soft lead bullets are splendid.

Forget everything you know about loading jacketed bullets. This is a whole new ball game!

Marty's Arms molds will make you any size ball you specify. At .311 diameter, his is likely a 16 cavity.

I have one of the 8 gang 0 buck mould (320) that drops 0.32" @ 47.8 gr. ave with range scrap. Have not tried pure yet. But it is a typical MP mould in that it casts very well.

    Update 12-7

Cast with pure lead, drops 0.317" @ 49.0 gr.

Yes,I am happy to go with the buckshot, but I have a bee in my bonnet about not being more exposed to the vagaries of supply and demand any more than necessary. Maybe I will just pick up a Lee 2 banger as an insurance policy and leave it at that.

Pure lead should drop about .001 smaller.
    Aim small, miss small!
