    Continued prayers for my father/update

Thanks to you all who have been praying for my dad (Ed). He came home from the hospital last friday, and had another appointment today. The foot does not have very good blood flow yet, and they will be doing another surgery next Tuesday to remove the rest of the toes, and to do further debridement of the wound. He will have another 3 day hospital stay, and at that point the doctor should be able to tell which way the foot is going to go.
This is really an adjustment for us as a family. Mom and dad have been fairly healthy up to this point. With dad losing part of his foot, we need to look at him being able to get around the house. It means that we also need to be involved, and starting to check in on them. We always were involved before, but this is a different level. Things like being available to take them places (dad will not be able to drive for a while), picking up meds, etc. Certainly makes you face the fact that your dad is mortal, and some day will pass from this earth. Makes me want to make sure i appreciate him while I still have him.

I have prayed for your father. Only one of many who will do so, I'm sure. Please convey our best wishes to him.

It can be hard but if you work it right it can be done and isn't a real issue. My Grandmother needed some help and such. I worked close by and Dad went past every day on his way to work so we swapped days stopping in after work to check and do odd chores as needed. Brought in mail and little things.

Once your Dads in recovery you might be surprised how well he does. It will be a learning experience for him and the family both. If possible accompany him to the threapies and rehabs. This will help you to know how to help him and also You will see how to "handle" him when helping. Not sure I worded that quite right but....

Prayers sent. Consider hand controls for the car. When I had foot surgery for awhile I used them.

Praying for Ed and the family.
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, in order to assure the survival and the success of liberty.
