    Ranch Dog, looking at that front sight it seems that it could be milled for a dovetailed fiber-optic sight. Mill it down far enough and select a low F-O sight and it might match up with your rear sight pretty good!

    Very nice job! I have hunted with slugs in MN for my whole life. And still take it out in WI. over the rifle a lot

    I liked the Floats,, that is a good lookin' airplane. Never seen one on Floats before.

    Centershots idea about milling a dovetail in the front sight base would work. I could do that, but I live in CA and it would be a long trip for a 15-30 minute job. Your gunsmith could probably do it. If he is making a Scout Mount for you, he should be able to handle making a Dovetail Slot in a sight base.

    Even if you do put an optic on that gun it would still be a good idea to have usable Iron Sights on it as well.

    it would also be easy to screw a 3" piece of Pic Rail to the underside of the fore end to mount a Light.
