Calculating MOA adjustments on ladder sight

I'm installing a Krag 1901 ladder sight on my H&R 45-70 buffalo classic rifle, next year I want to play with long distance shooting.

Question, what is the formula for calculating how much raise wives me a MOA elevation on the rear sight? The distance between sighs is about 23". I will know the exact distance once I have the rifle drilled for the sighs.

100yds is 3,600" and sight radius of 23"

    23 fits in 3600, 156.5 times

that means your adjustments are amplified by that number at 100yds

    1" divided by 156.5 equals 6.5 thousandths

so 6.5 thousandths moves you 1 MOA

also entirely possible that Im wrong

Thanks a bunch! That's' the ballpark I was getting by figuring the math being logical about it. I wanted the sanity check to make sure I was on the right track. My plan is to use shooter MOA, 1" at 100 yards vs. 1.047-something-something.

Any suggestions on this endeavor would be welcome. I figure converting to MOA would give me an apples to apples so different loads can be calculated based on MOA.

    1 inches at 100yrds = 0.95 moa.
I believe the calculation above is correct and use that when I try and adjust iron sights.
    Works for me.
