Does the Lyman lube sizer work well with lee molds someone told me it did lube the bullets good enough if I used a lee mold. Just trying to get started.

Everybody mixes & matches all sorts of stuff.

You may have to figure out what top punch works for your boolits,
but the sizer only cares about their diameter.

I use it with Lee boolets, but sometimes the Lee cast to small.
Have to open it up so it will size to the size I want.

Check the La Silhouette Club website, they have a Top Punch cross reference for Lyman/Lee bullets.

Casting and lubing are two completely separate jobs. Pick the mould you like or can afford and make a bunch of bullets. Then, after determining the size that bullet needs to be, run it through the sizer (& lubing strategy) you like or can afford. I’ve done the sizing part on bullets from a single mould at least three different ways in the past.

Remember that many of Lee's boolit molds were designed to be used without lubesizing - the tumble lube series. Frequently you will wipe out their little lube grooves or find that they are inadequate with regular lubes. Better to tumble lube those.

I size and lube a lot of Lee TL bullets in Lyman lubrasizers. Yes, if you size too much the grooves do get "wiped" away (swaged away is the appropriate term but either term works for me). For example if I size the TL314-90-SWCs, which drop at .315, down to .311 in one sizing the lube grooves are almost gone. However, if I first size and lube in a .314 H&I die the lube grooves are fine and filled with lube. The sized/lubed bullets can then be simply run in a .311 H&I or a push through .311 die and the lube prevents (it's basically none compressible) the grooves from swaging away. No pre size/lubing is needed with my TL 358s sized at .357/.358, the TL 410s sized .410 and the TL 430s sized at .429/.430 as they size and lube just fine in the lubrasizer. I use BAC lube which at 70 - 75 degree room temp here flows fine w/o a heater. When I lived up north I used a 50/50 NRA lube which flowed fine into the TL grooves in my Lyman 450s.

Yes it works just fine with Lee molds, actually with any mold. Finding a correct top punch may take a little searching but there is a good list here on Castpics. If you are going to use gas checks I would recommend getting their gas check seater it works great and helps get checks fully seated and square, a new Lyman 4500 comes with one. There are a couple lube vendors on here, Randy Rat and White Label I can think of, or you may want to make your own, plenty of threads and recipes here. Most of all enjoy the hobby of pouring your own!
