That's the way a chopper TD should look.

Good thinking on using nickle cases. Iv'e often said that trapdoors are the gateway to bpcr now I'm experimenting with bp in my Shiloh with some promising results but I'm finding out she's a little picky about bullet lubes.

    Trapdoors are rare here.
The one I bought is only the second I have ever seen and the only rifle, the other was a carbine.
Martini's are far more common particularly in 310 cadet and 303.
Honestly the trapdoor was not unplanned but more a "right place, Right time".
I initially saved for a Pedersoli sharps but by the time I had saved the price had increased 25%.
I then Bought a RB one afternoon and by next morning the seller had changed their mind.

Soo saw this one listed in an auction catalogue listed as very good and as they say the rest is history.
I really think the shots I put through it are the only shots it has fired.

The dust cloud that resulting from the bullet strike could have enveloped a truck!

We had a Trapdoor when I was a kid. It had been cut down into a Sporter. My dad would only allow us to shot BP in it. Never questioned him because he had drove into us the danger of using smokeless in wire twist shotguns.
I killed a deer with that rifle with BP and 405 cast when I was a teen ager. Later when I was on my own I tried Unique & Dacron filler and that has been my standard load for originals. I don't hot rod them and have had good luck with accuracy.
