    38-55 bullets

Looking for a source of 38-55 bullets, .380-.381 sized with a smaller meplat (.18-.2"). Slugged the bore and it is .380.
I am not set up to do any casting.

This for an older (1906) Winchester Model 94 and bullets with wide meplat will not cycle thru the action

    Any help appreciated

Saddlesore, I would be happy to send you some, just don't remember if they're quite that large out of the mold. I'm headed out the door for an appointment, will check when I get back.

Google "Rim Rock Bullets" in Montana, they cast and do custom sizing. Montana Bullet Works in Bonner does, also.

Just checked, mine run .3795 with this alloy. I could powder coat some to send you, but don't have a sizing die that large. The help you've given my family on elk hunting needs repayed!

You can often get WFNs to feed thru the ‘94 action by experimenting with seating depth. A LEE factory crimp die can occasionally be handy for crimping outside the standard groove.
I find lengthening the OAL to usually expose a sweet spot.
A WFN bullet that locks up solid can suddenly feed like butter by changing the depth... sometimes.

Hey thanks.Might have the problem solved. Hunter Supply has some 260 gr at .381. I am waiting a reply on their bullet design. It looks the same as some .376 I already have of theirs that cycles fine. From what others tell me that .381 should fit in my chamber if I am using Starline brass ,which I am. Appreciate the offer.
