    Every situation is different, but I personally find my shots from tree stands being a lot closer rather than longer. I tend to hunt that way, though, like a bow hunter. Pick a good stand site where they are traveling through a natural funnel and most of mine seem to be 50 yards or less. Several have been almost straight down shots.

    I believe the doe I shot in October to be about as far as I ever shot one, from the ground across one end of a soybean field, she was probably a little over 100 yards.
