I saw a rifle in the store last night, a FRENCH 1886 M93 R35. My first thought was, what was Bubba thinking when he painted that old carbine black? Come to find out, the French did that when they repurposed older rifles and cut them down to carbine size. Other than the black shellac and the dinged up wood, it was in good mechanical shape. I'm getting away from rifles but that is one interesting gun when you get into its history. I wonder what the recoil is like with that shortened stock.
