    StaBALL 6.5 ?

I notice that Winchester has a new powder out called StaBALL 6.5,I assume named for the Creedmore's popularity, but according to what data is available this looks like it benifits the 7mm08 more.According to Hodgdon data a 7mm08 will shoot a 150gr pill at a little over 2900 fps, basically the same as a 270,and it is supposed to be temperature insensitive .Has anyone tried this powder?

I seen a guy run a test on it's claim of temperature stability on Youtube last night, and it did pretty good in that department. He ran a test with H414,RL17,H4350,and the StaBALL 6.5...The H 4350 seemed to be less affected by temperature change, but had more deviation in both hot,and cold test groups..I plan to pick some up when I see it.

This person put in 50gr behind a 162 ELDM in a 7mm-08 AI. I gather this was near the limit of pressure so tread carefully.

If you're contemplating H4350 becuase if its temp. stability then you might look at Reloder 16 too. Some people say that Re16's slightly more stable and perhaps somewhat more available than H4350.

I called Hodgdon Powders about IMR 4007 about 2 months ago and during the conversation I said that I really liked 4007 in my 7-08. Ron Reiber, the product manager, said not to fret over the loss of 4007 because they had a powder coming out in a few weeks that would make the 7-08 scream. He named StaBall and said it was developed for the 6.5 Creedmore. swheeler, let us know how this new powder works for you. BTW, I just saw where Graft and sons had Shooters World powder on sale at some really tempting prices.

Let's just hope StaBALL 6.5 doesn't take the same route as WMR, WXR and most recently Supreme 780! It always seemed like Winchester was trying to set some kind of record for discontinuing powders They would be terrible drug dealers!
