    Need to reload

Got this 6 point yesterday using my Remington 700 30.06 and a NOE 311165.

It was about a 70 yard shot. If you look closely you can see where I hit the deer and there is a piece of river cane stuck through the holes to show the bullets travel. I felt I pulled off a great shot but when I began gutting I found the stomach had been ruptured like a gut shot. I can't figure that one at. Bullet was tight behind the right shoulder and even tighter coming out behind the left shoulder. Maybe fragmenting? This has never happened before. The bullet was 50:50 soft lead and wheel weight, the same that I always use for hunting.

Another thing about this deer is he is the 4th buck I've taken with the same piece of brass over the last 3 years hence time to reload.

    Congrats on your harvest!

It is awesome to see that another uses the same piece of brass for several Harvests year after year. Yes, Time to reload

excellent! I run mine even softer at 60/40 lead/ww. PC'd & gc'd I've ran them up to 2400fps with no leading in the bore. Have'nt had the chance to connect with one yet, but I'm sure they'll do well.
    Good hunt.

Is this a copy of the Ranchdog .30-30 bullet?

I did that with my M86 45-70. Shot several deer with the same reloaded piece of brass.
Then, same with my Savage 110CL /358 win.
But, talking about use of brass.
I am still using the same batch of TW-54 '06 brass since 1968 in my Springfield MC Sniper rifle.
Lost track of how many times it was reloaded.
I did keep track of 44 Mag brass for handgun Silhouette.
Reloaded same boxes of brass up to 15 times.

The M86 load is a Lyman 457483/385 gr FNosed at 1750. Only deer rifle for 25 years.
then, in last 30 years the 358 Win load was lyman 358218 /250 gr Paper Patched clocking
2350fps. I like the big bores for hunting.

NOE's ranchdog clone (311165rf) I've killed 3 deer with it in the 30.30 and 4 with it in the 30.06. It shoots about a 4" 100 yard group out of my 30.30 but 1" with the 30.06 Really great bullet for me. I have not lost a single deer. Most have dropped in their tracks but a few have had to be blood trailed for 100 yards or less.
