    Lyman 358429 for Lever guns

Hi Guys, Is any one using the 358429 for hunting in a lever action, I have some customers in New Zealand that have had their AR15's banned,
and are replacing them with lever guns either .357 or .44, I have some excellent .44 moulds but only the 358429 .357 if it is not recommended
what is a good boolit in that weight range?
    Best Regards
    Robert.

My wife shoots the 358429 in an older Rossi 92. It will not feed if you use the crimp groove with Mag brass but works fine in 38 Special brass. If you look at Accurate molds there are many good RNFP designs available that should feed fine in Mag brass. I prefer bullets over 160gr. with a GC in 357 rifles but the lady likes the 358429 so who am I to argue?

I've been using the 358429 in my 16" Rossi, I crimp on the front band so it feeds using 357 mag. brass. They are powder coated and shoot good. I've been going with 1.635'' OAL in mag brass with 15.8 of WW296 and doing a slight roll crimp on the front band. I'm not sure about the velocity in the rifle but they seem to be moving pretty good and not tumbling from the slower twist barrel.
Oh great, another thread that makes me spend money.

Lee's 358-158-RF works great (and is deadly accurate) in an IMI Timberwolf 357 pump carbine

I've used the 358429 in my Rossi and it feeds OK, but you can't play pattycake with the lever, work it like you mean it. So far though I've only killed came with a RNFP hollowpoint.

Another good heavier weight design would be the 175 gr Ranch dog style made for the 357 mag

NOE's 160 and 180 wfn's work great if they will feed. They do in mine.
