Winchester Super Handicap powder for handgun useage?

Has anyone loaded any handgun rounds with Winchester Super Handicap?

Several years ago, when pistol powder was difficult if not impossible to find, I bought a few pounds of WSH to try out in handgun loads because I simply could not find anything else at the time.
I used it in 9mm quite a bit and it worked well for me. The problem is, there is literally no load data out there anywhere that I can find for handgun use.
It fits in the proper burn rate range for handgun use, so I tried it.
It worked. Very well in fact.

I decided to try it in 38 special as an experiment. It falls between Green Dot and Win 231 for burn rate.
I loaded some of it under 158 grain cast RNFP that were coated in High Tec.
Long story short, I fired those loads in several of my 38/357 revolvers and it worked a treat. Very clean and extremely accurate. Even more accurate than the other pistol powders I had data for.
The only powders I had with me that were loaded with the same cases, boolits, and primers that came close to keeping up with it in the accuracy department, were CFE Pistol and Bullseye.
I was indoors and didn't have the use of a chronograph so I don't know the speed of the load I was using.

I hesitate to post the charge weight until I find out more but there were no pressure signs at all. Felt recoil was the same as the other loads I was using and the cases came out very clean.
I need to load some more and see what velocities I am getting and find out if the accuracy and clean brass will repeat.

The gunpowder manufacturers have many products that are very versatile. No, I have not tried the WSH powder but I remember those days you spoke about when it was impossible to find not only your favorite powder but any powder at all. The day came when I was searching for Unique but found it unavailable. My search of the burn rate chart led me to Alliant's 20/28 which is also advertised as a shotgun powder with a burn rate very close to Unique. Not long after that discovery someone else made the same discovery and tested 20/28 against Unique. They found that equal charge weights in a given caliber and boolit weight gave identical velocities. The striking revelation was that the group sizes were very similar with the winning edge going to 20/28. Still to this day Alliant makes no claims for handgun application of 20/28, but it's there.

When 20/28 first came out I too looked at it for handgun use, but found no data for it. I called Alliant and talked to a man that said it is almost the exact same burn rate at Unique but just a hair faster. I took that to mean it was the same for my uses and he agreed. 20/28 was designed for those two shotgun gauges and as they are small compared to 12 gauge Alliant produced this powder to take up less space in the hull than their popular Unique powder. I call it "dense Unique" and yes it does what Alliant set out to do and I use it for those two gauges. Always work up your loads and watch for signs of too much pressure just to be safe.

Is 20/28 cleaner than Unique? I also like Super Handicap and American Select for my lead boolit loading.

I too am curious about WSH. I have a fair amount of it but have yet to play around with it.
