    My name is mike....and i'm a reload-a-holic :-(

i just ordered yet another mold.

    from accurate ....40-145-Z

i have one from hardlines that is simular in the fact that it is a powder coat style boolet without lube grooves and weighs in at 175 ish grains.

but the difference is there is a truncated ridge between the ogive and the boolits diameter.

i have no real proof that the ridge is the cause of cartridge jam .......but i had a few boolits like the new mold i just ordered that i loaded with #5
powder (8.1 grains) and they shot perfect!

i then loaded some of the hardlines boolits ,adjusted for boolit weight in regards to powder load , and they jam.

all other aspects of the finished cartridges are the exact same.....with the exception of that ridge line, which seems to hang on the feed ramp.

so now i've got a new mold on the way to try!

That looks like a good idea to me.
Let us know how it works .
As much as I like flat bases and Keith style boolits I do find when casting the fewer hard corners I have on a boolit the fewer culls I have and for autos they feed in more of my guns for the rounds I load in large quantities .

Hello Mike, my name is Bob, and I am a reload-a-holic. I am very guilty of going to my reloading bench and trying different powders and bullet loads on different cartridges and not getting to range and shooting them. Sometimes I wind up pulling the bullets after awhile, dumping the powder back into the jug and load something else. I do mark the case with magic marker with the powder and charge so it goes back into the right jug.
