We had a cold snap here in NE Ky so I decided to go clump 20’ up a cold tree in the snow and sit on a metal tree stand... to hopefully get a Doe this morning... shooting a TC compass in 308

Good luck! I awoke (good thing?) to seven inches of fresh overnight snow -- with five more inches forecast by one o'clock this afternoon -- and sixteen degrees (F) temperature. If I could get to camp... toooo cold for me. Keep your fingers and toes warm !

Oh.... in my neck of the woods, tree stands need only be ten to twelve feet up...
You're well camouflaged; I cant see you! Good luck!

Got down to 26* here with ice on everything this morning. It is just now melting, something knocked out power to my shop and my neighbors due to the transformer fuse blowing. Last time it was a squirrel that stepped across both contacts on the transformer. I have a feeling with the cold snap and all the heaters that were running off that transformer last nite it hit the max load and blew the fuse.
How’s your temps today?
It’s 31° with scattered snow in the Ashland Area

We had -3 last night in Northeastern NE, too cold for this early. Going to moderate for the weekends start of Firearm deer season. hc18flyer
18 degrees with a biting North wind this morning; it’ll be 70 degrees again in a few days.....
Down to single digits up here in Fargo ND, but the house is a nice comfortable 69.8 degrees. Basement casting/reloading area is a few degrees cooler. Just about right for a nice casting session.
Get past Christmas with the kids and we are headed for the gulf coast. Quick stop at my Cousin north of Covington La who has been storing my trailer for me since late Feb last year.
Then we are headed for the Albama gulf coast. Plan to explore our way from there to Albuquerque NM by March. Stay there for a couple of weeks then wander our way back home in time to do taxes. We have a friend in Albq who wants to show us around. And we are hoping to do some rock hunting and maybe turqouise mining. We'll also be hitting a few pawn shops down that way. Wife loves the blue stuff and wants to stock up.
We found a place within 6 miles that will only cost us 40$ a month to store the trailer.
One 2 week reservation near gulf shores, after that its wing and a prayer explore hop, skip and adventure our way. No deadlines, no worries. I have one neighbor who will keep the snow plowed out, another who is 2 houses away who has a key and will stick her nose in now and then.
Water will be turned off and drained. Thermostat set at 55 degrees. That is what we did last year and it worked fine. Mailbox has a pass through the exterior wall and a removeable bottom. Set a big tub under it and go through it when we get back.
Only a few more weeks to go and we'll be off.
It was 95 when I got up and 108 by lunch time.
Warm weather will hit soon. I can feel it building up!
19 here in NC at the moment. I didn't move far enough south!
9 degrees here in Salem Illinois. Its too cold too early to suit me...………………..curdog
At nineteen degrees you make me jealous! Yesterday's high was 21, and a few moments ago is was 4.7 degrees, with another forecast high of "twenty degrees, F" for today. I spent three hours on the Kubota tractor yesterday moving some of the nine inches of fresh snow (it has a heated cab), dreading the fact that I'll need hand shovel a ~25 foot path to wood-shed later, as I'm almost out of wood (our heat) in house... In North Carolina does one need remember to open the kitchen cabinet doors under sink to hopefully keep those pipes from freezing, as I -- close to Canada border -- need to when it's a bit below freezing out?

25 F this morning, slight North wind, 45 by noon, make up your mind!!! I’m ready for some winter.
I firmly believe that you should only get treated by how you act, not by who or what you are!!
19.6 here in north Louisiana this fine sunny morning too cold for early November. Glad I got a mister heater in my ground deer stand.
