Absolutely beautiful, what do plan to load for it? Comfortable loads with authority or mini bombs? That should do both and everything in between nicely.

Blazenet, that is a beautiful 500! I love how the cross frame cylinder retaining bolt was removed and properly covered. I have a real fondness for blued black powder style frames. Ya, I see that your base pin is retained by a nut in the pin securing it to the barrel. Beautiful single action.

Oh man all these are beautiful revolvers.

I like big and I'm always shopping but they are sort of rare around here. No hunting with handguns up here.

I do have a 50, a standard 4" 500 S&W, also used to have the first model 10 1/2" right away when they came out. There is something strange about those new Smiths, they have no personality or "character", if a gun can have any... I think you know what I'm trying to say. They shoot good and accurate but...

Do you know that Dinosaurs are extinct. Wonderful Six Gun right there. I handled one of his one time and was extremely impressed. Owned a Freedom 83 at the time and I thought the Bowen was nicer.

It doesn't make "sense" really, but to many it does. I bought a Harton Ruger 5 shot .45 colt conversion a couple years ago, while already owning a Freedom Arms 454. The Ruger won't do anything load wise that the FA 454 doesn't top, as nice as it is, it's nowhere near as well made or as tight as the FA and it cost twice what I paid for the FA! And yet... there's something special there the FA just doesn't have. Kind of like an old hotrod vs a sports car.

Another maker for the photo show... Clements built 500 Soon to be 20 years old.
(no wait... 20 years since the conversion, 35ish years on the frame?) lol

    Former cylindersmith.
