Check your Accurate 3100 if you have any

Just an FYI I got a bunch of powder off a deceased gentleman. I had a pound of 3100 not in the lot listed in recall (01994) and it was clumped up in a ball and smelled arcid. They're sending me new powder so I'm presuming it did whatever the recall was for. Check your stuff even if it's not in the recalled lot.

IIRC, that is a discontinued powder. I'm curious as to what powder they'll be sending you as a replacement? I've got a pound left on the shelf, I'll have to check it.

It was Dealer's choice. I chose Magpro and wish I'd have asked for Hunter in retrospect. Most anything but pistol powder would have been good, I have a multi-year supply of the stuff at the moment.

Like rockrat, I also have AA-Magnum Rifle Powder (MRP). Checked, and it is fine. No clumping or acidic odor. This reminded me to start checking all my powders for degradation.

My avatar is almost a dead ringer for my little buddy Chico. Six pounds of mean that thought he was a Pit Bull. Miss that little guy.

This is what happened to me. I can say that 1-it happens and 2-Western customer service was awesome about it. I can't complain in the least. The grey isn't over saturation of the powder that's the crystals on it. Note the yellowed top. It'd almost burn your nose hairs out just opening the can.
