    30 xcb

Hello All, Just wondering if anyone has used the 30 XCB 165 for hunting with and if so what was their experience with it on mid size game ? I've used the Lyman 311041 in my .308 on feral goats that go around 40-70 pound and does the business but always wanted to try something that the gas check does not sit below the case neck so am looking for some feedback on that, the rifle has 10'' twist and 20'' barrel with suppressor, Ive got all types lead from lino to pure to experiment with but was planning on 50/50 pure and COWW to start out with

    Thanks

you have to decide what velocity and what alloy you intend to use.
xcb has been used with good results

I like something with a flat nose. What cartridge are you using that 311041 in?

I believe the 30 XCB would work very well on mid sized game. I have not shot a 30 XCB, but have harvested 9 deer with a boolit with similar nose shape and meplat size from an Arsenal Mold. IMHO, Using your 50/50 alloy I would aim for not over 1950 FPS MV to avoid successive blood shot meat. I believe 30 XCB will do a great job for you harvesting mid size game.

    aim small hit small,

    Ken
