    new 45 mold

Found a 4 cavity Lyman mold today at a show, got it for a great price. It's a .452423 and the best part was the price of $35.00. Some one had cast a few in the mold to see what it looked like. Has one in each cavity. The toolman.

    Good deal.

I'm a 'spray the empty mold with oil' guy, but some people store molds with a boolit in them.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.

For you to find a 4 cavity 452423, and then for a give-away price, makes me think you need to buy a lottery ticket really soon. Excellent mold pattern. I use it mostly in the various S&W and Colt 1917 revolvers, and occasionally in 45 Colt. I have even read of others using this boolit in their 1911 pistols. I made a brief attempt at pushing some of these into 45 acp brass but did not stay with that project. Last time I tried this the COL kept getting in the way of reliable feed-up so I moved on to the next adventure. There is a lot of fun waiting for you to discover with this design. With all this said now I will probably return to ironing out the issues this boolit gave me earlier with the 1911 design. Thanks for giving me the motivation to do this.
