Finished my 45 caliber muzzle loader target pistol

Bought the parts from Track of the Wolf, used 0.440 patched round balls, 30 grains of Goex FFG and closed ignition mainly due to the very short through of the cock. Piece of walnut was from a scrap pile at a local hardwood supplier for $30, large enough to two stocks. Shoots 2 inch groups at 25 yards so far. Took about 6 weeks to finish, grip is similar to SIG 226 and checkering took me about 3 days! Two coats of sealer, 4 coats of Tung Oil. Sorry about the Philips head screws, I ran out of the correct ones and am working on getting more.Click image for larger version.

I'd like to see the whole pistol in a shot or two.

Nice non traditional pistol. Also would like an overall view. My last ml build was supposed to be a full stock underhammer but it’s unfinished.

    That's way cool.

The only stock I ever made from scratch was for a rubber band gun.

I got some correct sized machine screws and slotted screws to get rid of the phillips head screw holding the rear of the trigger in. My mentor gave me hell for that!!! Here are both sides. Well I guess not, can't upload the files so I'll do a new item.

Finding Slotted head wool screws is not easy any more, either in Brass or Steel
All I find in steel is cad or Zinc plated.
I have to acid strip them with Citric Acid so I can blue them.
But I too am a stickler about not using Phillips head screws on my BP guns.

Track of the Wolf has slotted steel screws, both wood and threaded. Also screw blanks so you can make the length you want and thread them according to your need. Check their web site for sizes and price. Pay on-line and you will have them in a couple of days.
