    Big chunk of lead!!

Was by our local metal people and I usually go look at any lead available. They had what looked like the base of a sculpture with part of the ski's and boots left. Think of a nicely mushroomed boolit about 24" wide at the base and 24" tall with the mushroom part about 40" wide.

Wonder how much it weighs??? That was a hunk to move, I'll bet.

    Wow.

That's one of those projects where you use the largest power tools available.

OK People. Enough of this idle chit-chat.

It's like looking wistfully at a solid lead sailboat keel. Gotta have the cash, the truck, the hoist, the strong back and a place to store and process it all at the same time.

Depending on the exact volume it could be five up to eight thousand pounds. Even at the low end I personally wouldn't have the means to deal with it.

Same here. Nothing to lift it. Besides, I have about a ton of range scrap I need to process one of these days

Many of us would slobber over a chunk of lead like that but big scores equal big work. Like Kevin said, you have to have the finances and the way to deal with it. I sorted about 6000 pounds of wheel weights a couple of years ago. I was about sick of wheel weights before they were all turned into ingots!
