This is early for this big of a snow, hope we get more this winter to replenish the lakes. The farmers just planted their wheat so this will be good for them and the deer.

Summer finally broke here in East Texas.
Now we're at the time of year when you run your heater and air condition both during the same day.

Well, at least we will be just a few days past a new moon (Oct 27), on opening day (Nov 2). That + the rut hopefully kicking off, should keep the bucks moving during shooting hours...

At least it goes away right soon for you Texas folks. We will now be getting that stuff until at least March & the Cold to go with it.

Haha! I hope I am correct & they are not, in that prediction.

We have had a lot of rain & although it is getting old from so much of it, plus the farmers are suffering for it not being able to get the crops out like they would want to do, I like the idea that I don't have to shovel rain. If that rain becomes snow, then we will get a lot of snow & I don't relish the thought of dealing with it in excess.
    Time will tell though~

Some places: For hot & dry, cold & wet, cold & dry, pouring rain, a few inches of snow-- you have to add it all up and wait for several months.

Here, we can give it all to ya in about 4-5 weeks.
With a side of left over snow in the shade, and 80 degrees while you stand on the sidewalk in a T shirt looking at it.
One year we did it all in 2 weeks.

Does 5 inches shut everything down in Texas? Do city departments prepare with salt and sand? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't with as little as that state gets. It'll slow things down here in Mo for sure, but not shut us down.

We snow skied behind a pickup on a dry lake bed once or twice. We don’t do snow well here but ice is the worst. For all my life in NCT I only remember a few hard winters. And that’s fine!
