WTT, looking for some heavy bullets for the 45-70 to try in 450 bushmaster

I looking for some heavy bullets to try in the 450 bushmaster for loading subsonic loads. I'm hoping that using a longer and heavy bullet will help reduce the case capacity and get me closer to a subsonic loading. I have some very nice 45cal hollow points, and several small lots of brass. I would like bullets about 400grs

There is no problem so great, that it cannot be solved by the proper application of high explosives.

I’m pretty sure the Bushmaster is designed for .452 dia. not .458
Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? (Sgt. Oddball, KELLY'S HEROES)

I will be casting soon as I have a mold due here today. Ill cast & weigh from that mistery mold and see what it drops. (I know its .460 but can be sized smaller)

Ooh my The LEE 460-425 RD is a loaner.

Thanks CW that bullet looks great.
I have asked Jared at Arsenal molds to make a 400gr, tumble lube, plain base bullet, with the same nose dimensions as the NOE bushmaster bullet from the group buy. Waiting for a email from him.

Of coarse dependent on alloy. But says 385 its. Reports are mostly lil heavier. Know for sure soon enough!

    Ramson222...

I have some that are cast from the Lyman mold 457193. With my alloy, hi-tek coated and lubed they weigh in right at 425 grains. They are sized .459 right now but I'm sure you would be able to size them down. They were water quenched so I'm guessing hardness to be somewhere between the 16-18 mark. If you're just wanting a few to try, send me a pm and pay for the ride and I'll get you some

    Thanks!
