    Mosin cleaning rod thread size

I have a Mosin Nagant M44 that I've been cleaning the cosmoline and related gunk off and the threads on the cleaning rod are a little buggered up. Does anyone know by chance what the thread size is? I'm not about to force it into the rod nut and damage it further. I would guess that it would be metric, but I have guessed wrong before. Thanks

I know this does not answer your question.

Never used the cleaning rod that comes with any of my Mil Surp rifles. Dewey Rods work just fine.

It's not that I want to use the rod, it's that I would at least like it to fit for appearance sake. I did go on the 7.62x54r.net web site and found the specs. It's .156x32 = 5/32x32 = #8x32.

This is where you get it. Tell them the carbon steel die will be ok/fine.
