    Pritchett Patched Diameter

Some time back had found a picture with dimensions showing that the original smooth sided Pritchett bullets used by the British were .550" diameter. That would have been 0.027" (or thereabouts) smaller than the .577" bores of the rifles they were shot in. Does anybody know what the diameter was for the patched bullets? How thick the paper was? How much clearance the ammo was crafted to have?

Search for this topic on the British Militaria Forum and you will find voluminous and very current info on the subject.

I've seen a variety of thoughts, even bore diameter.
