    Hollywood Powder measure

I have an opportunity to buy a Hollywood powder measure for $150.

Is it a good deal? I know they are good, but $150 good?

It might be a good deal if you are a collector, but in actual use, any of the standard models from RCBS, Lyman, Hornady, Lee, etc. will be just as accurate for less money.

$75.00 is a high price. $150.00 is gouging the collector. In my not so humble opinion. Hollywood tools have attained a cult like following that has jacked up the prices way beyond their actual value.

That is the 2nd of three variations of that model. The first didn't have the bench clamp and was nickle plated. The third has a solid drum.

I like mine enough that I gave my Son my RCBS, it's a better measurer than the RCBS IMHO. Most are missing the cap for the hopper, however a lid from a 1lb plactic powder can fits nice and snug.

The first powder measure I ever used was my Dad's old Hollywood, almost 45 years ago. That same measure is mounted on my bench to this day, and although I have other measures... RCBS, Lyman, Redding, Belding & Mull... it remains my "Go To" measure. My opinion is that $150 is pushing the top-end of what I'd pay for another, but then I already have one.

Ok, thanks. I passed on it. It’s on San Diego Craigslist if anyone wants it.
