    Mp 44 hbwc?

Just unwrapped my MP 44 HBWC mold. This is my first one. I have a couple SC Ideal 32 & 38 HBWC molds. I would like to ask a stupid question. Mould came with HB core pins & blanks to pour solids. No instruction sheets. The Ideals are easy to work same as HP molds. My question: are these molds designed to pull the HB pins to release bullet from mold. Which only makes sense but do cross pins for core pins have to be taken out each time. If so I'm going to D&T cores and convert them to Lyman Ideal type core release. If possible to get clearance for 2 cavities. This is my first rodeo for MP but they look very well made. Cut me some slack if this is a stupid question.

When you open the handles and rotate the mold 180 degrees the boolits will release most of the time. A slight tap on the handles will release the rest if needed. I had a couple pins that needed the points dressed on a penta design. Gravity is your friend for getting the pins back home before the next pour. I very lightly lube my cross pins when they begin sticking and not going home without being touched. The weight of the pins on your mould will be beneficial. Don’t sweat it, the process is simple just requires more twists of the wrist when using the pins

On mp-molds website, there is a good write up about tips and tricks on using their hollowpoint molds. I don’t think it would be any difference with a hollow base mold. I am assuming it is a nose pour mold.

One more thing, when I assemble my pins, I tighten them up and then back off a 1/4 turn. This leaves a little room for expansion. I also dab a little sprue lube on the sliders when the mold is hot.

Thanks, haven't poured yet but I now understand how they are suppose to work now. In my other molds I keep a soft rag with WD 40 to swipe pins. It is the opposite of flux and helps release from pins if they start sticking.
