    45-45-10 First try.

I sure hope I did this right. Was my first attempt.

First I tried to cook off the Johnsons paste wax. I think I got that right. Heated it in a can until it smoked then boiled a little did this for about 1/2hr. Melted down enough paste wax to get about 2oz. then mixed in equal amount of Lee Alox and then added about .4oz of mineral spirits. Did this outside on my hot plate and it's about 55* out there right now. But I noticed tat the mix was starting to solidify as I was measuring the MS and once I had that added I but the jar back into the almost boiling pan of water to reheat it and get it all liquid again and shake everything together.

So does this sound about right?

Sounds about like how mine turned out. Except I didn't reduce the JPW down and re-add mineral spirits. I just melted JPW and LLA together and poured it into bottles. Aside from melting the bottles it worked well enough. Mine got hard in the bottles and I just microwave it till it's soft enough to plop some out and knead it over the bullets in a ziploc bag.

Gently warm can of JPW till liquid. Squirt in one 2 ounce bottle LLA. Stir.

    Done.

Dries hard and non sticky in minutes. Works.

You're welcome sir, just saw it.

I realise I may have come across as denigrating anyone who cooks it, I am not. I had always meant to cook a can and do a double blind test and see if one showed advantage over the other, but I doubt that will ever happen now.

I'm not smart enough to even guess if and how much it is changed by cooking, I just never wanted to fart around with it....
