    Sales to Alaska & hawaii

    I still see it sometimes.
Cont 48, lower 48 only, or something like that.
I'm wondering why, if it fit into a USPS flat rate, they would refuse to sell to us????.
I can see if it won't fit into a USPS flat rate.
    The shipping price is higher.
I'm hoping these sellers don't think it's to harder to ship to us.
It's the same as shipping anywhere in the USA.
Majority of our members are great about getting stuff to fit in the USPS flat rate box.
Take apart a press. Loose parts in a zip loc bag. Lots of padding.
I try to do the same.
postal workers here like to throw boxes around.
Being here, we are all part of the same hobby.
We all really should strive to help each other out as much as possible.

If it will fit in a flat rate box, I don't pay any attention to where it's going. I will gladly ship 10 lbs of lead way over there for less than $8!
    Hypothetically speaking of course haha

    Thanks for the support.
Everyone has the right to refuse to sell to us.
But it does go both ways.

I wouldn't have a problem with it either.
After all, they're going there anyway.

I don't have an issue with shipping anything to AK in flat rate boxes if the item will fit - a while back, I shipped an aluminum molds block to a member in AK and put in a bunch of cast lead balls and conicals that I knew he could use - hated to see the space in the box go to waste.

The only issue I ever ran in to was with a fellow in AK who bought a heavy barrel bank from me - he couldn't understand why the postage was so high - oh well 0 let[s see - the point that it had to be flown in may have added to the postage rate? The guy sent me several e-mails complaining about the shipping cost - I advised him I was charging what the scale and the PO told me it would cost. He was trying to "work" me and I finally told him that I would bet more than happy to ship it to Spokane for a cheaper price and he could drive down and pick it up. Yea . . . he stopped whining and paid the shipping.

When shipping NOT with flat rate, it cost way more for Alaska and hawaii.
Same if we have to ship to the lower 48. It cost way more.
    I'm sure everyone understands that.
That's why flat rate is so great.
It evens out the playing field.

Feeling is mutual, I could part ways with Pewter, but won't let go of Lead.

Abunaitoo, I agree 100%. What really surprised me is that time I bought a MFRB of 223 brass from you. It was at my doorstep in Michigan in three days. Dang, thats fast!

As far as the lower 48 comments, I think it's probably just habit from the old days before flat rate boxes.

    Now there's no chain.

I have PLENTY of cylinders come and gone back to AK nary a problem.
    Got a .22 .30 .32 .357 .38 .40 .41 .44 .45 .480 or .500 S&W cylinder that needs throats honed? 9mm, 10mm/40S&W, 45 ACP pistol barrel that won't "plunk" your handloads? 480 Ruger or 475 Linebaugh cylinder that needs the "step" reamed to 6° 30min chamfer? The idjits are still out there.

My son-in-law in Juneau needed some shackles for his boat trailer. The company in Michigan that manufactured the trailer wouldn’t ship to Alaska, but they would be happy to ship Flat Rate Priority Mail to me in Minnesota.

I received the package and stuffed it in another same-size Priority Mail package and sent it on up to Alaska. He got his parts OK, but…

My daughter used to work in one of the tourist shops and people off the cruise ships would come in and ask some pretty stupid questions, in all seriousness.

“How high above sea level are we?”

    “Do you take American money?”

    “Do you speak English?”

“Where can I go to see some Natives?”

    Sad.
