I found by accident that drywall compound was pretty soothing to poison Ivy rash on my arms. Very messy but soothing.

Dawn dish detergent and a wash cloth worked fer my wife. It gets the oils off and no harsh effects. I’ve been very lucky not getting any of the poison Ivy’s or sumacs.

Lava soap works also. The key is a rough wash rag and a 5 minute exposure to suds, with a 2 minute rinse. That seems to be what it takes to get the oils off of your skin.Originally Posted by myg30
