    Leupold VariX III gold stripe 3 x 10 x 50 NIB

A good friend has a Leupold VariX III gold stripe 3 x 10 x 50 NIB that he wants to sell. I would like to buy it but I really do not know the value. I don't want to pay more than going price but would like him to have an honest deal also. Anyone know what that value might be?

This link may help, but it is the price Leupold listed for it when new.

    https://www.leupold.com/scopes/compa...-3-3-5-10x50mm

Amazon, lists them for $249 to $329. Use the search engine on your browser will get you more information. Hope this helps.

the newest vx1 has just as good of glass and better coatings so id price it according to that. Great scopes in there day but theres better today. I wouldn't pay more then 200 for it.

I am assuming that it is the older Vari X 3, gloss and not the newer Vari X 3i matte. There is quite a bit of price difference between them. The former probably $275+ and the latter $425 or so, depending on how much you like your friend.

For me it would depend on if it was matte or gloss.

I offer less for matte because they are ugly and I put them on my ugly guns.

I pay more for gloss and they go on pretty guns.

I’d offer 50%-60% of the price for a new comparable. 25% if it’s matte!

$200 to $250 would be fair in my opinion
